Changes are afoot in Marilee's glamorous vintage "boudoir" room in the Sacramento studio!
She recently painted the room a rich forest green, which harmonizes perfectly with the faux foliage that covers the front wall. The new color really sets off the gold tones in the art and light fixtures that were already present in the room.
While most of the furnishings are authentic or repro mid-century vintage, the overall look is timeless. The green and gold tones are on-trend, making the space just as perfect for modern boudoir as it is for a very period pinup or glamour set.
I just shot in this room for the first time since the refresh, and loved it! I wanted a "New Year's Eve Afterparty" vibe for a sexy lingerie-and-corset set, and Marilee delivered with sparkly gold holiday garlands, confetti-filled balloons, and contrasty lighting. The deep new wall color brought the sophisticated, dark-yet-warm winter festive feeling I'd envisioned!
