Marilee Caruso Photography's October client of the month is the beautiful and talented Dorothy Von Fink, a pinup and pinstriper extraordinaire! Dorothy recently shared some of her favorite experiences collaborating with Marilee, all of which produced some very stunning imagery!
Dorothy on her first pinup shoot with Marilee...
I first started working with Marilee after I won a photo shoot with her in 2013, I believe! She had generously donated a photo session to a pinup contest that I entered...I got lucky and won it! Our first set from that session was a fantastic pinup “Beatnik” set which was so fun and was executed exactly how I envisioned. From that point on, I was hooked on working with her.
On why she loves working with Marilee...
I had always seen her work posted around on social media by other models and I fell in love with her bright, cute and fun photos. She has always captured the heart and soul of traditional pinup images with a hint of modern style. Her warmth and positive attitude have been a good reason I have continued working with her. She makes you feel like you’re the only thing that matters when you’re in front of her camera with no distractions and her sole focus is on you...and that in turn results in fantastic images and a boost in confidence as a client.
The talent that Marilee possesses with her work (including hair and makeup application) is top tier and with each session I do with her, they only get better and better.

While I adore each set I have ever done with Marilee, I absolutely love the most recent one I got to do in her green boudoir room! That set landed us a cover option for Bombshell magazine, and I also used a couple of those images in my solo 2024 calendar. That set was wonderfully colorful and elegant and really stands out for me in the best way possible!
Closing thoughts...
I feel so honored to be able to work with Marilee whenever I can and I’m so lucky that her studio is only a short drive away from me...a win-win! Each time I work with her, it has been a fun and unique experience, I always leave her sessions feeling so confident in knowing that the images we got will be some of my favorites that I will be excited to share with everyone.
