Marilee's May Client of the Month is the lovely and talented Miss Missy Maybe, a fabulous pinup on the move! You will recognize her from numerous publications, including recent covers for Bombshell and the Retro Lovely "Bond Girls" and "Halloween in April" special editions!
Missy on discovering Marilee Caruso Photography, and her first shoot experience with Marilee and Rockwell DeVil:
"I heard about Marilee for the first time because a friend of mine had photos taken at our other friend’s bar (Danger Island). The pictures were so great, so when I was looking to get into pinup modeling, I went to her. The first experience shooting with her was a dream! It was a special event with Rockwell DeVil, and both of them were so nice and supportive. I was nervous, but Marilee was so helpful with choosing an outfit and then pose and face guidance because I did not know what I was doing!"
Why Missy loves shooting pinup, and working with Marilee:
"I think pinup is fun because one my favorite things to do since I was a kid is to play dress up! I love any time I can dress up, whether it’s a costume party, a fancy event, or something like Tiki Oasis or Viva Las Vegas where everyone gets really into the aesthetic. Pinup gives me an outlet to explore all of my weird dress up fantasies!
Marilee is great for this because she has a huge costume closet if I need an extra piece (or an entire outfit) plus so many set pieces and props plus her own creativity that we can bring any crazy vision to life. I loved getting to see her beautiful mid-century house for our Spring shoot in her pink guest bedroom. Plus those photos turned out so cute!"
Missy's favorite projects with Marilee, and what's coming in the future:
"My favorite photo shoot was. 'Creature, but make it cute' the outfit was in my mind for a long time and I loved how the set and colored lights really captured the concept. That said, my favorite cover is the March issue of Bombshell Magazine, with the gorgeous flower wall and bunny ears.
We don’t have any shoots on the books yet, but I’m holding onto a few sets to “reveal” later for a themed magazine that I’m very excited about! (Including that first shoot with Rockwell!) I also have so many new ideas I can’t wait to shoot with her!"
