Marilee's November Client of the Month is the lovely Becky, also known as LilSmyles, who just happens to grace the cover of the first Marilee Caruso Photography hardcover book: Modern Vintage Pinup!

Becky graciously shared some of her memories of working with Marilee, commemorating a journey that began over a decade ago!

On her first shoot with Marilee...

I started working with Marilee right after my divorce.  I was 39, and my self esteem was pretty badly beaten after 7 years with a narcissistic cheater/loser. I found an email from when I had messaged her about a year prior. I was always interested and just didn't follow-up. I messaged her again, stepped out of my comfort zone and did a shoot with her. From that first day, Marilee was so easy-going,  fun and made me feel so comfortable and actually laugh and have fun! She was so good at her coach posing, and overall staging. I loved the outcome, and had a great time doing it!

Why she loves working with Marilee, and sharing the experience with others...

I have been seeing her pretty regularly for the last 11 years, probably once or twice a year I make the 2-3 hr drive for my day of fun! Every year I make a calendar for my new husband. My second shoot actually made it to the cover of her hardback book. I was stunned! I had no idea that could ever happen!

I have referred so many friends and family to Marilee over the years that I have lost count. I love seeing my friends have the best time with her also. I have also made friends on some of her on-location shoots.

Becky discusses her favorite shoots...

I would have to say my favorite was the Yolanda Ranch shoot, and the sailboat was definitely fun. Having never been on a moving sailboat, trying to keep the wind and sails working for you was an experience. My last shoot with Marilee was an homage to turning 50! We went to the Capitol and finally got the greatest black and white shoot! I must say that for 50, she made me look exceptionally beautiful.

The feeling of finding out that your shoot is in a magazine, or book, is the greatest!

On how Marilee helps build self-esteem for her clients...

Marilee has helped me rebuild my sense of self, finding myself and loving myself once again. She is a miracle worker in more than just her photography, makeup, hair, and friendship. She is building self-esteem and creating the best memories for clients while doing it!
