I had wanted to do a pinup photo shoot to mark a personal milestone and when I came across Marilee’s profile I knew I wanted her vision and artistry to help me accomplish what I had in mind. And she delivered!!
Suzi's favorite projects together, and how that's affected her love of pinup...
After our first shoot together, my love for the pinup culture became much bigger. We’ve worked together for a year now and have shot three times, with seven sets. Needless to say, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it but some of my favorites are the jukebox and fetish shots we did. When each of these sets got cover, I was smiling from ear to ear, I was so excited! The beach shoot she put together will always be special because that was the very first layout I had in mind, the first outfit I picked out…and Marilee gave me exactly what I was looking for.
Some of the things she appreciates most about working with Marilee...
One of the things I’ve appreciated most about working with Marilee is the comfort she brings to shoot days. She has this ability to get me out of my shell and sometimes I don’t even realize it at the time! She gives off this let go, let flow vibe that gets you out of your head so that you could be in the moment and enjoy it all. This is when we’re creating beautiful art. Our most recent shoot included a vintage party glam look, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Marilee got me moving around, “singing” into the microphone, putting on a show and it was an absolute blast! You could see it in the shots we created.
One of my favorite experiences in working with Marilee is seeing ideas come to life. I could come to her with a small thought of what I want to do for a shot/outfit/set and, with her experience and knowledge, she takes it, expands on it, and makes it happen. It’s so awesome to see in person! Not to mention, getting hair and makeup done is so much fun! She’s good at what she does!
What's next for Suzi and Marilee?
After each opportunity I get to work with Marilee I waste no time thinking about what I want us to do next. So many ideas go through my head since she has an extensive list of props, sets, etc. I’m already planning on more shots with a moody vibe, sets with pops of color, with new outfits I haven’t tried, all while playing with new hairstyles and makeup. I’d absolutely love to do shoots with cars and more shoots that are on location. These are definitely on the top of my list. I’m so excited and looking forward to all the goodies Marilee and I will continue to create together!
