Now that Marilee Caruso Photography is a bit more settled in the new Sacramento studio location on Franklin Boulevard, we wanted to update you with a little video tour!
Marilee’s home setup was fun and functional, but the extra room at the studio makes it possible to expand the pinup glamour!
With nearly 1200 square feet of space, Marilee can have 3+ traditional “backdrop” sets active at any given time. There’s also room to stack backdrops behind the “live” ones for quick changes, plus space to store commonly-used props at the studio within easy reach. Marilee offers dozens of set themes for clients to choose from, so the added flexibility means more time concentrating on clients during a shoot and less time doing setup.
A completely separate room is staged full-time as a mid century boudoir, complete with a vintage bedroom set, mirrors, fun new lamps (including an awesome Sputnik-style fixture!), and a beautiful green “plant wall” that’s similar to the pretty flower wall in the pink boudoir at Marilee’s 1950s home.
Bigger, taller sets and more floor space for light setups are a given, but there’s more! Every room in the studio features huge floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer natural light options, too.
There’s also a spacious glam room complete with a high ceiling, gorgeous lighted vanity, massive full-length mirror, a private changing room, and lots of places to store and display Marilee’s fabulous XS-3x pinup wardrobe. This area isn’t just for prep, though; it makes a lovely setup for shooting clients, too!
As a client, I appreciate the extra space and amenities and thoroughly enjoy shooting in the new studio, both by myself and with other clients present. It’s safe, secure, and very private, with enough room for multiple models to prep and shoot at the same time.
At Marilee’s November event with the fabulous Rockwell De’Vil doing hair and makeup, there was plenty of room for several of us to get ready in the glam room while Marilee shot in the main studio space. And last month, I had a great time shooting with my friends Lena von Noir and Miss Melody Noir in the space. Even with all the stuff we brought, the glam room was the perfect spot for hair, makeup, and getting dressed. We even ended up eating lunch in there.
For those who love Marilee’s beautiful vintage living room, dining room, and pink boudoir, don’t fret! Those spaces - along with an array of other indoor and outdoor shooting locations - are still available to clients. Just ask Marilee when you contact her to book a shoot of your own!
